The Tampa places

The geography and the weather of Tampa are very important for the greatest and diverse natural life. The places where we can see all the natural landscape beauty are the surroundings of Hillsborough River, full of swamps, cypress trees and Oak and Hickory Forests. Today, the Hillsborough River is used not only for recreation, but also as a potable water supply. 

Tampa is a city located on the west coast of Florida near the famous Disney World Resort. Because of its location the city possesses several bays and beaches.

Tampa beaches

Enjoy the blue skies, the white soft sand, the clear water and the sunshine of the most incredible beaches.

  • Greer Island Beach, located on the west side of Gulf Drive, offers beautiful beaches and fishing. It is a perfect place for a romantic stroll at sunset.
  • Siesta Beach, “the whitest and finest sand in the world,” offers beautiful landscapes, tennis and volleyball courts, playground equipment, and special events during the year.
  • Caspersen Beach Is well-known for the high concentration of prehistoric sharks’ teeth. It offers nature trails, fishing, and picnic areas.
  • Blind Pass Beach is a great place to relax, with canoe launch, dune wildflowers, fishing, a nature trail and a large picnic shelter.  

Tampa parks

Beside beaches, Tampa has other attraction such us:

  • Caladesi Island State Park, is one of the islands along Florida’s Gulf Coast, a natural paradise, where you can swim, sunbathe and enjoy a three-mile nature trail or a slide through mangroves along the three-mile kayak trail. You can rent boats on the island.
  • Sand Key County Park, this island is located on the south of Clearwater Pass. Here tourists will find cabana rentals and two striking beaches.
  • Fort De Soto County Park is located on the North Beach; the island is amazing with soft white sand and clear water. The island offers picnic shelters, grills and playground equipment to its visitors. 
  • Egmont Key State Park is a wildlife refuge only accessible by boat. It offers excellent nature trails, picnic areas and fishing. It is home to the ruins of Fort Dade.
