Paris, capital of France, is located in the north-bending arc of the river Seine. Education in Paris is very prestigious, and it counts with many important high-schools such as Lycée Louis-le-Grand and Lycée Henri-IV, Lycée International de Saint Germain-en-Laye and the École Active Bilingue Jeannine Manuel.

Paris boasts 17 public universities that were once one University, The University of Paris, split in 1968 in order to decentralize the student body. Each university took the name of the suburb in which it was located. Nowadays Paris has the largest concentration of university students in Europe.
