Here we are talking about Nagoya city, in Japan. Nagoya, is the third largest city in the maps of Japan and Japan’s fourth most crowded urban area. This city is in the region of Chubu and is the capital of the Aichi Prefecture and also the capital of the automobile industry in Japan and one of the major ports in the country.

The history of Nagoya

Although the city was completely destroyed after World War II, it managed to rebuild the castle of Nagoya in the same exact model the original was once finished in 1612 by the first Tokugawa shogun; it has now become a museum. An also interesting place to visit should be the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology, since this company was the reason this city became one of the most important ports of Japan. Although admittedly, this city doesn’t have the same attractions offered by other metropolises of the country, it’s always been the entrance to the Japanese Alps and the Ise-Shima National Park.

Nagoya Station

Nagoya Station, known as Nagoya-eki or Mei-eki, is on floor area, the largest train station in the world and the two large towers that are built on top have Takashimaya department store, Tokyu Hands, an observatory and myriad restaurants offering the best food of the Asia map, as well as a Marriott hotel. Nagoya Eki was distinguished by Guinness World Records as the largest building surrounding a rail station.

While planning your Nagoya travel, keep in mind that until February 2005 Nagoya’s Komaki International Airport was replaced by Chubu international airport with the same OACI code NGO; five Metro lines split the city, one of which surrounds it in a circle and is known as Meijo; and when the city of Nagoya was built again from scratch, the streets were designed wide and straight, having many of them named.
