Portuguese is also the official language in five African countries which are: Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe, Angola, Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde. 

Although, there are some differences among dialects from different regions, the essence remains the same. The main difference is maybe between Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese, due to the relative proximity between Africa and Europe, African dialects are more similar to European accents, but apart from these differences all Portuguese speakers can communicate without any problem.
