Berlin, one of the most favorite destinations in the world

Berlin, capital of Germany, is a modern, cosmopolitan and cultural city in Europe with a vast population of 4.5 million inhabitants. It is well-known as a historical center, because many important and historical facts that deeply affected the rest of the world took place in this city. For instance, the Second World War and the Berlin wall, to mention but a few.

Although Berlin got over many negative downturns, it emerged as a new city. Nowadays this city is one of the most favorite destinations in the world, because visitors can find several Berlin attractions such as museums, gourmet temples, galleries and many historical buildings. In addition, currently it is quite internationally famous for its active nightlife.

Berlin’s main airports

Berlin is a big capital city. At first, visiting the city can seem an exhausting and challenging task, however, thanks to the modern Berlin transport it is very easy to get around the city. There are two principal airports in the city, a good bus terminal and public urban buses are pretty comfortable.

Tegel International Airport

This international German Airport is located in the north-west part of Berlin. It is actually the principal airport in the city, because it receives many international flights and domestic ones as well.

Schönefeld

This airport is situated in the southeast part of the city and was created for the majority of low-cost flights.

The bus transportation system in Germany

On the other hand, the bus transportation system in Germany is quite safe and cheap, which is why most German people use this service. There are several local bus companies in the city providing more than 350 destinations to other countries in Europe. Located in Charlottenburg is the central bus terminal: Zentraler Omnibusbahnhof. Another interesting way of visiting the majestic city of Berlin is by boat. Thanks to boat transport you can reach the most important rivers in Germany: the Havel River and the Spree River

There are several bus stops where locals and tourists can take different buses to reach different parts of the city. Although taxis are faster than public buses, they are really expensive. That is why it is a recommended bus transportation system so as to explore the city. In order to take a public bus in Germany, visitors have to get a bus standard ticket (€ 2.30).

Berlin’s climate

Regarding weather conditions, Berlin’s climate is the same as other German cities such as Munich, Frankfurt and Bamberg. This city has a continental climate with strong cold winters, rainfall seasons and hot sunny summers. On the other hand, Munich weather has warm and moderate summers.
