The structure of the Paris Eiffel Tower
The engineer behind the tower was known for its revolutionary bridge building techniques and the framework for the construction of the Statue of Liberty. The structure that Gustave Eiffel designed for the tower consisted of two parts:
- The first is a base composed of a platform lying on four supports
- And the second part is a narrow tower above the first part, which rises above a second platform to join in a unique column.
