Kenya Languages, officially recognized, include English and Swahili, but there are 69 other languages spoken in the territory. In time, Kenya developed its languages as an influence of Portuguese culture during the colonization , then the English Rule and the independence of Kenya. However, Kenya is a country, in which multilingualism is practiced and people prefer neither using their mother tongue, although it’s not English nor Swahili.  

Kenyan cuisine

On the other hand, Kenya boasts a huge range of products that Kenya people use as ingredients for the traditional courses and form their culinary highlights, dishes like Matoke, Ugali, Maandazi, Githeri, Biriani, Kuku Na Nazi, Irio and more. Kenya’s best cook can be found in Kikuyu, the Abaluhya and the Luo Tribe; because unfortunately there are not many restaurants that serve traditional food.

Kenyan literature

Kenya is also well-known for its literature, because the country has a long oral and written literary tradition in English and Swahili, one of the most famous books is Utendi wa Tambuka (in English, it’s The Story of Tambuka), currently most books are presented in English.
