The six districts of Berlin
Berlin, the capital of Germany, is the largest city in the country and the second most populated with 4.5 million people. It is located in the north east of Germany bordering Poland.
It has 12 boroughs and each borough is composed of many localities. Each borough has its own style. The boroughs are grouped into 6 districts:
- Mitte, it is the historical center of Berlin, here we find most of the museums, galleries and many historic sites.
- City West, one of the main shopping streets with many luxury things
- East Central, this district is full of cafes, bars, clubs and trendy shops, very popular for young people: students, artists and media professionals alike.
- North, it is an old town with many monuments and art galleries.
- East, the beautiful district of Berlin, with many parks and gardens, it contains the “Gardens of the world”
- South, it is mixed with many boroughs of very different characteristics
Berlin is a pretty city much involved with scientific research and new technologies. The city has many research institutes and remarkable universities. The industry is one of the pillars of the city that maintains the economy of Berlin and Germany strong, industries such as pharmaceuticals, biomedical engineering, biotechnology, electronics, traffic engineering, renewable energy and information technologies.
The major touristic destination
The major touristic destination in Germany is Berlin, being the capital of the country and the main cultural center. Berlin is a cosmopolitan city that blends the modern monuments with the classical and neoclassical architecture of its monuments, palaces, museums, art galleries and more. All those places show the diverse culture and German history. Another of the great attractions of Berlin are the green areas spread in the city, there are forests, parks, gardens, rivers and lakes.
Germany cuisine
German cuisine is very different in every region; Berlin’s cuisine reflects the immigrant history of the city. Twelve of the Berlin restaurants are included into the Michelin guide that is the best-known European hotel and restaurant guide, the ingredients used in this cuisine are pork, goose, fish, peas, beans, cucumbers or potatoes.
Berlin attractions
