The country has a lot of history, according to the Ukrainian history, it was formerly a part of Russian Empire that prohibited the usage of the Ukrainian language and reduced traditions and many festivities of the Ukrainian people, after the October Revolution and the Civil War, the country became independent and tried to come alive again some original traditions and the Ukrainian language by a process called Ukrainization which was a policy to increase the usage and the development of the Ukrainian language and promote other elements of Ukrainian culture. Despite these politics, many people in Ukraine still speak the Russian language.

• Kiev Pechersk Lavra, also known as the Kiev Monastery of the Caves, is a historic Orthodox Christian monastery located in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. It is one of the UNESCO world heritage sites. 
• Saint Sophia Cathedral is a marvelous architectural monument and the principal temple of Kyiv Rus located in Kiev. It is one of the city’s UNESCO world Heritage sites and the best known landmarks  of Ukraine.
• The Olesko Castle is the most famous castle situated on the borders of the Busk Raion about seventy-five kilometers from Lviv, the largest city in western Ukraine.
• Palanok Castle is also called the Mukachevo Castle, a beautiful historic castle in the city of Mukachevo. This castle is very preserved because its location is at a 68 meter high volcanic hill. 
• Holy Dormition Pochayiv Lavra is the most sacred spiritual and ideological centre of various Orthodox denominations in Western Ukraine. It has the Reputation of having a Virgin that has a gift of miraculous healing.
