Rhodes is a beautiful island in Greece, located in the northeast of Crete, southeast of Athens and southwest of the Anatolian coast in Turkey, in the eastern Aegean Sea. It is an important international touristic center, according to the mythology; this island was product of a love affair between Helios and the nymph Rhode.

The Beaches of Rhodes

This amazing island has the most wonderful beaches, soft sand, crystal clear waters with many hotels and beach resorts where you can have a great time enjoying different amenities, or water sports or just relaxing in the sun.

Rhodes has been blessed with many, wonderful, long stretches of beach. The most beautiful beaches there are:  

• Afántou, located 22 kilometers southeast of Rhodes Town. It offers many activities and is not very crowded. The place is ideal for sunbathing and swimming in clean water. 
• Faliraki, located 16 kilometers south of Athens. It is the most visited resort of the island, near to the beach there are a lot of hotels, bars and discotheques.
• Kalathos, located 50 kilometers from Rhodes Town. It’s the most exotic beach, with dense vegetation and clear waters. 
• Kallithea, located 8 kilometers from Rhodes Town. It is one of the most visited and famous because of its medicinal springs, spa and gyms. This place is full of vegetation and wonderful wild, rocky spots.
• Lindos, located 48 kilometers south of Rhodes Town. It took its name from Apostle Paul, and has a unique landscape between sandy beaches or rocky spots.
• Tsambika, located 25 kilometers south of Rhodes Town. It is ideal for relaxing and enjoying the sun, it also offers many activities and aquatic sports.
• Ladik, located 20 kilometers south of Rhodes Town. This beach is a mixture of mountains and sea. During the holidays it is very crowded due to its beautiful, wild atmosphere.
• Agathi, located 38 kilometers southeast of Rhodes Town. It is one of the beautiful beaches with soft golden sand and clear emerald water, Ideal for relaxing, swimming and sunbathing.
• Lalyssos, located 8 kilometers from Rhodes Town. It has splendid landscapes and is an ideal place for windsurfing. 
• Elli, is the central beach in the capital of Rhodes. It is one of the most popular beaches, near the Casino, the Aquarium.

Rhodes is a great beach destination, with a terrific Rhode climate, striking natural beauty, monuments, hotels, restaurants, bars and all the warm hospitality of the Greek people.
